New feature to increase adoption

The problem

Code42 released a feature in which users could mark activity from designated resources as trusted. However, few users adopted this feature, leading to unnecessary alert volume.

In response, Code42 built a feature that suggested resources the user might likely want to mark as trusted, based on activity in their environment. We needed a way to point users to these suggestions so they could approve or dismiss them.

My role

I served as primary UX writer for this feature. I also produced the end-user documentation for the feature: Trust suggestions.

The process

I worked with product management and engineering to develop the content, including the interface text and an in-product banner.

Banner text (not pictured in image):

Trust suggestions now available! Review what’s generating file activity across your organization and choose to mark it as trusted to exclude it from alerts. Review your trust suggestions

The result

In the 2 weeks following the release of the feature and in-product banner, we saw a 6% increase in adoption.
